Jumpscares are the cheapest form of horror. I want horror movies not to "scare" me but to depress me and throw me into a bout of extreme existential dread. That's real horror. Not this kiddie shit. For a writer who proclaims to be so fond of lovecraft he sure doesn't understand anything about his stories.
