Watching someone make faces convincingly does nothing if the writing isn't effective. Don't give a shit. All bad acting does is remove the immersive quality of film, which is a shitty illusion and shouldn't be the main focus of a film anyway.

For me, bad acting completely invalidates the writing, no matter how good it is. If the acting is bad, I care literally zero about the writing. Never waste good writing on bad acting. I've seen movies that I don't like specifically because I didn't like the acting. Man of Steel is a perfect example. I'll take good acting and sub par writing over bad acting and decent writing any day.
