How exactly someone with suvh a shitty temperment became a genius inventer is a mystery but he's repeatedly shown to lack strategic thinking and to just rely on his armor to carry him through fights.

Not even that, pretty much all the movies featuring hik repeatedly show him making bad decisions and being too confident in himself. He's hubris personified. Most of the tension between him and Steve comes from how Steve doesn't kiss his ass like everyone else tony encounters.

Steve likely didn't tell him about his parents because he knew that Tony would go into an autistic rage. And he does. he fails to consider that Bucky was a victim in all of this and he's ready to murder both him and steve. Steve somehow manages to beat the fuck out of Tony and what happens next? A moment of clarity where he realizes how awful he's acting? No he disowns and insults Steve and uses his clout to make Captain America a fugitive. It's a metaphor for how the corporate military industrial complex have manipulated and lied to American veterans.

I have a feeling Tony is being built up into a villain. He was the one who sent Banner off the earth and banner will be fighting him again in the inevitable planet hulk movie.
