He is with out a doubt the dullest critic in the history of movie critics. Seriously, each episode following the boy reviewer and his pals from Rotten Tomatoes as they watch assorted movies has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the reviews’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of insight, all to make films unmagical, to make cinema seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Armond vetoed the idea of Ebert writing the reviews; he made sure the critiquing would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody? Just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his conservatism. The Armond White movie reviews might be anti-Muslim (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Cole Smithey in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

The writing is dreadful; the reviews were terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time Harry Potter came up, the critic wrote instead that the franchise was "dull."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Armond's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving analysis by the same Doug Walker. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Armond White at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to watch the Nostalgia Critic." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Armond White" you are, in fact, trained to watch the Nostalgia Critic.

It starts off by trying to make Jor-El into some fucking action hero riding a dragon (!) on Krypton, and it continued in that same contrived way throughout the entire film, which of course includes the hilarious scene with Kevin Costner as Superman's dad telling him to let him die just to make a totally pathetic point...

Only part of the movie I enjoyed somewhat was the fight in Smallville (at least I think it was), the drawn out and totally tiresome fight against Zod at the end had me tune out completely, oh, I have an idea, let's crash through a building, and again, and again...

The story was something out of a ten minute fan-fiction contest with it's insanely forced plot devices.
