She cites the existence of Saint Maurice, somehow, as evidence for widespread persons of color throughout Europe - but he was only one man. She references the European Jewish population, who in appearance could have likely been white presenting. Then Iberia, which is a special region that was conquered by North Africans - which is irrelevant to the British-inspired setting.

She mentions historical evidence of Middle Eastern and North African people living in Britain, but doesn't provide numbers and I hardly think that should be represented in the show.

I remember reading about how if the Byzantines conquered enemy peoples or captured enemy soldiers, those soldiers might have been given land so they would eventually fight for the Eastern Roman Empire.
