I think sometimes the bandwagon hate on opie is a bit silly. Listening to old shows, you can clearly hear him say some funny shit. Is he as funny as Anthony, Jimmy, and the slew of comedians? I don't have one anymore, I listen to Jim&Sam on youtube, but it's not like prime O&A.

I got really depressed when Ant got fired in July of 2014. I only got into O&A around late 2013 so it was still like a new thing to me and I was working through the canon of classic bits. And then all of the sudden it was over. Ant was the straw that stirs the drink, he was the single most important part of the show, he was the only guy who brought consistent comedy everyday (since Jimmy was only there like half the time). I knew immediately that without him the show wasn't worth listening to, and after trying Opie and Jim a few times I knew I was right. Opie was a malignant cancer and Jimmy simply can't work as a second mic.

It was around that time I started listening to Ron and Fez and I realized that I actually prefer that show. It's not as "edgy" and tryhard as O&A often was. Ron is the most brilliant and finest broadcaster in the world and I could listen to him read the phonebook

I never understood how Opie could get treated as if he had diplomatic immunity on the show.
