I've been refusing to see this out of principle. Anything by Garth Ennis should be only made on the condition that it can be X-rated. Preacher, The Boys, Crossed, all of them feature very graphic violence and uncensored sex. Is Ennis' stuff edgy? Yes. Not neccesarily in a bad way though. What happens when you remove that edge is that it's just dull.

I thought that actually worked well as it was part of a much bigger story. The town was populated with heavy kkk influence, Jesse was tempted while in a relationship with Tulip, and it was an introduction of an interesting new character.
I didn't mind tulip being black, but it does take away from the character in this arc, and the impact this arc has. Either way, the TV series is so different they probably will never do this arc anyway so w/e
