1 Absorbing man was unique, enabled the use of cool effects, and the final battle is one big Freudian metaphor. 2 Dogs are brutal as fuck. The fight scene is better than you remember from when you were a kid. 3. Connelly's performance is pretty great.

Overall, it's the emotional depth to the acting that sticks out to me. You don't realize how low the bar is now for acting in CBM, until you watch the older films. Now, it's a constant procession of psuedo-clever one liners and hamfisted dialog.

came here to post this. i remember ed nortons hulk came out and i thought the older one was better, which was confusing to me at the time because i was so young.

I seriously enjoyed this film. Sometimes I feel either there's a mass undiagosed-ADHD hysteria among film critics or maybe it's just random what they attack. All I rememberr people bitching about with this movie was it was long or boring. Watch a 3 hour-long movie and get your attention span up you retards.

There's almost 0 reactivity from the surrounding environment, and the scenes are always in the same, easy to cg, lighting, and framed with the cgi in boring, central positions. It suffers from the same green screen issues the Star Wars Prequels do. Because the actors don't actually interact with anything, the cgi looks floaty and weightless.

The HULK cgi looks good because it's framed really well, animated based on Ang Lee's direction, and the cgi interacts with the environment in interesting
and realistic ways.

It's literally assembly line CGI.

The CGI is outsourced to large VFX companies that have hundreds of employes that put this stuff together with little to no input on the artistic direction.

In the earlier days of CGI, the VFX team worked alongside the director like Special Effects team used to do, and the director had alot of artistic input to how it should look.

Shit just looks like plastic and play doh or a Blizzard Wow video.

No, comic story telling is a medium in itself, using it in a film defeats the entire point of sequential storytelling. Its done solely to be "comicbooky" and comes off as the most pretentious retarded shit ever. Yet the rest of the film, funny enough, is completely detached from anything comic Hulk related. Such a stupidly superficial detail being SHOVED into the forefront makes this movie shit above anything else.
