To be honest, I would be fine with Chibnall just giving more power to his producers and script editors. Maybe I'm just an oldster, but I still like having scripts by commission. It gives each story it's own unique feel. The problem is that it's difficult for one man to give equal attention to every script and also produce a show.

One thing the BBC seems oblivious to which is damaging the show is they seem to think the majority of the fan base are far leftists. Only a small fraction of the fanbase is far left. Thus we get ridiculous comments from the Doctor and his companions this series. The majority of the fanbase are centre-left and the far left pandering is turning them off.

Seriously i'm gay, not a lesbian obviously, but the average gay person doesn't announce they are gay so much only attention seekers do so. Moffat can't write gay characters. RTD could and this is why Captain jack was so successful because he was written like it was no big deal. Audiences don't like in your face commentary at all. DUDE POWER OF LOVE OF ME MUM to defeat evil space monks who were built up as a deadly threat for three episodes. Literally the same ending for Bill as clara, saved from death and goes off travelling with space Lesbian. What trash, Capaldi and Lucas were the only good things about this series. Chibnall has given his blessing for an 8th Doctor Spin-off series. McGann is getting a full three series! BBC reached a deal with Netflix to produce the spin-off which will air each year 6 months apart form the main show. Will be announced once series 11 and the 13th Doctor are cemented into the public conscious, so around feb 2018. Filming will start in early 2018 and it will air late 2018. Tom does have an ego, and he was possessive of the part and rude to costars and directors etc, but the one thing about Tom is that he is by no means fake. He's open about everything, he recognises and admits the fact that he was a dick, and often explains why. He didn't like Louise Jameson because he missed Liz Sladen and hated the character of Leela, he shouted at directors because he'd been doing the show for 6 years and thought (rightly or wrongly) that he knew how to make things more exciting than they did. Particularly in his older years he has mellowed out and reconciled with people like Jameson, and is very open about his ego and his flaws.
