People shit on this show but I enjoyed it.
It's quick and dry and I like the characters and premise.
Not everything has to be guttural levels of humor.
It is the only American show which I can think of that comes close to having a female character like Rory who is cute and pleasant for the sake of being cute and pleasant.

>watch the early seasons
>remember how much better things were in the early 2000s
we really didnt know how much shit would hit the fan in the times to come, didnt we?

it helps that all the characters were equally written on the same playing fields, they each had faults, and problems but seemed like real people. Like, none of them was just a back round character with the same joke, I could watch an entire episode on kirk and be happy

Somehow I am insulated from a lot of that. I only ever see it on television or /pol/.

its different if you were around when the show was on. GG was one of the most popular shows from that time, so its like going back into a time machine watching it. Like when you watch your childhood favorite shows but they arent unfunny and poorly written shit you only liked because you were a dumbass kid and remember it through rose colored glasses

imagine rory takes off her shoes and kicks you in the balls with her sweaty feet mommy takes off her pants and braaaps in your face while you're lying on the ground haha!

Things were better in the early 2000s because you were young, not because it was the early 2000s
>>84559819
yes and no, things have always sucked but you have to admit things are way more unstable and shitty now then they were in 2001-2006. It seems like every 10 to 15 years things get really fucky and then cool off, like a nature social order of things

>tfw I grew up in a small new England town like stars hollow
>wanted to meet a qt girl like rory and run the town like taylor
>became luke instead
>realized luke was right all along
>>84559940
Not really though, it depends on where you lived but mostly, it depends on how conscious you were at how fucked up things were around you. You're pretty oblivious to that kinda shit when you're a kid.

third world shitter detected
>>84558604
the show is too white, so rory should be taken by a few BBC, like in the sopranos, which is not a problem since she is a slut.

Woah. Really makes you think.
