Why's this board obsessed with ranking shows by their respective seasons? A show should be considered as one unit and not split into seasons. That's not how you value their quality

>he hasn't seen True Detective season 2

TD is an exception since each season contains a different cast so they should be seen as each season is a new show
name 1 (one) long, or even medium running show that actually has consistent levels of quality throughout
it just doesn't happen faggot.

But that's exact my point. If one show has variations in quality they should be rated integrally
Why is this board obsessed with blacks?

It's because ranking seasons of television shows is the perfect synthesis of mindless analysis, narcissism, reductive argumentation, and shit stirring which the shills have learned long ago.

Are you daft? What you're suggesting is entirely dishonest.
Television shows aren't made by a single person. Episodes are directed and written by completely different people on an episode by episode basis. Shows do drop and rise (rarely) in quality because the writing and direction change over time. This problem is then compounded by the fact that shows are changed, renewed, or canceled, based on the whims of ratings.
You get around this problem by explicitly saying that XYZ seasons in XYZ show are good/bad. Part of looking at a show as one unit is looking at the individual seasons for what they are and understanding that the medium of television is very different to film in this respect.

If one show's 1st season is good and the second and third are mediocre I'd rate its integrity as mediocre
Rating each season separately seems to be justifying their mediocrity

True. Season 2 was better than season 1.
