The town of Twin Peaks was utilized perfectly in the original series. Every character was given a laser focus, and fleshed out so we could see the "tangled web" that they were all somehow connected in. Sure, there were extras, but they were all relegated to the blurry background, to great effect.

Now, the new characters haven't gotten nearly enough shine, and the old characters seem drowned out by the shitload of undeveloped new characters. I can understand this in Vegas, a big city with all new characters, but Twin Peaks itself seems too crowded.

Mike used to work with Bob? and now Mike is trying to stop him? Because Bob went rogue and stole all his creamed corn? So Mike is a demon like Bob but Bob is just greedier and stepping out of line?

Also seems that Bob and Mike only inhabit their hosts at certain times. For example with Leland he only seems to be under Bobs influence when he rapes/kills Laura and Maddy. The guy Mike uses as a host somehow figured out he could control Mike by keeping him at bay with his medication

So the purpose of Bob capturing real coop and releasing Dopplecoop was so that he could possess Dopplecoop (easy since he's already evil) and use his FBI status and connections as a great way to get more Garmonbozia?

Does this mean that "evil" people have good Dopplegangers?

Also I can't understand why the woodsmen would have any interest in keeping Dopplecoop alive after extracting Bob from him.

It's ambiguous and after part 8 it might be kind of retconned. but in the original series BOB was something like an underling to MIKE (MIKE calls BOB his familiar). After MIKE finds god and removes his arm, he stops killing and hunts for BOB, but BOB continues killing. It's also said in FWWM and the series that the only thing BOB fears is MIKE.

This is ambiguous, especially with Leland. It's very possible his behavior after he smothers that guy is actually BOB in control, but it could just as easily be Leland or a mixture of the two. Leland's behavior in FWWM is also more ambiguous than the TV series, in whether he's got full control of his faculties or not.
