Why are so few singers/entertainers good actors? It's really a rarity that someone breaks into the movie industry.
Pic unrelated, JT is an exception.
What? Practically every second actor is in a "band". Ryan Gosling, etc.
Bjork is another exception

This movie was fucking kino
Easily in my top 3.

Thank Fincher and Trent Reznor

>Why are so few singers/entertainers good actors?
Because they are singers and not actors. You need vocal training to be a good singer and you need acting training to be a good actor.

Eminem is another exception, it's too bad he doesn't seem to wanna act more, he was great in 8 Mile

Ryan Gosling broke out as an actor, not singer tho, big difference
Jared Leto though

Justin Timberlake is a shit actor who plays himself in every role. You never once forget you're watching Justin Timberlake.
For most people, acting is a craft. Even shitty actors acted in high school and typically at least did a few years of college where they were learning to do it.
It may seem easy, but when you see a bad actor or you watch random indie shit, improv stuff, etc. you realize how many people suck really fucking bad at it and that it does actually take some talent.

he could pull off goku

yes, and they're shit at one of those things
>>84465641
only one who's good at both

JT was trained as much more than a singer though, NSYNC had singing, dancing, entertainment presence and charisma. It was a multi-faceted role and JT happens to be very good at all of those things.
it naturally morphed into acting. It's different from say, Justin Timberlake becoming an actor. Sure he's on stage "dancing" but it's not the same. Probably not even singing at this point. All those shows must be lip-synched.

David Bowie, Tom Waits, Debby Harry, the list goes on...
No mention of Mos Def?

>Even shitty actors acted in high school
remember timberlake is a disney kid
he has been bred to be in the spotlight singing and dancing acting etc

What? You think it's easy being a successful singer and successful actor, amigo?
You need friends, kiddo. Friends in high places.
Dwight Yoakam
Will Oldham is a good actor

Bjork was also great but she's only really had to show off any talent in one film (DR9 does NOT count).
You also get other people like Tom Waits that play bit parts pretty well but probably don't have any real chops and are clearly there just because e they're successful musicians, while Oldham gets acting gigs on his on merit
