Alcoholics in movies are nothing like alcoholics in real life. Sure maybe they have like an hour or two where they're functional and even charming as fuck, but the whole point of alky drinking is to get destroyed, which they always do. And that entails the grossest fucking behavior imaginable, I'm talking puking, pissing, crying, fighting, and any other shit you'd expect a giant baby to do. And don't give me the smug "bruh, learn to handle your drink" talk either. You're not an alcoholic if you can stop before you get to that point. Real alcoholics always drink to that point and beyond, and it really baffles me how they will do it over and over and over, because it really is the worst and most degrading shit to see.
