Anyone else seen 1898, Our Last Men in the Philippines?
I thought it was good, scratched my Imperialist itch almost as well as Zulu, the ending was pretty epic and tragic, made me mourn for the days of empire.
Not yet, but looks interesting. Never watched something like that about the Philippines.

Yeah it had really good production values too, really good visually

I'm a Flip and Spain is retarded
>Boohoo we won't surrender even though the war is actually ogre (to save face their cunt sold mine to the USA without us even knowing)
>Won't listen to reason
>get rekt
>finally quit and surrender
>Like true officers and gentlemen they were let go without a hitch despite them fearing that they would just be shot wholesale
>Survivors exaggerate their ordeal
>the ones who besieged them were later wiped out by American artillery months later in the PH-US war

damn just watched it myself a few nights ago. have been thinking about it ever since, how intense that would be as a young 20 year old fresh from the homeland. fucking mind boggling.

Yeah it would have been fucking horrific but life defining, the ending scene with the music really nailed it. They left as warriors of Spain

You all still worship our god like good little subjects though

the artist main character really didnt deserve to have it so bad. felt awful for him desu. that spark from the priests eyes when he recognized the touch of God in the boy's ability was excellent. Sidebar but I loved the scene where the priest starts doing last rites for the first dead man and the pose he strikes is the exact same as a classic monk statue.

Yeah the Sergeant was a bit of a psycho, but after what he's seen who could blame him. Yeah the Priest was great, my heart sank when it showed he has the beriberi
