The thing that annoys me about these movies is how delusional the upper management is. When discussing the hunt for a new Han Solo they kept jerking each other off about how it's such a huger roll and whoever gets it will be a star for life. No.....it doesn't work like that anymore. Star Wars was lightning in a bottle at a time when film was the dominant for of entertainment. In 2017 the same rules don't apply. Also notice how Daisey Riddley is still a fucking no one despite having top billing on the current series. They are so full of themselves it hurts. It's like they are propping up a house of cards and they know it.

Star Wars movies need to start addressing that they are in space. We need scenes like where Luke and Vader fight each other and Vader kicks Luke out a window and Luke is like fuck i'm in space the pressure is killing me. They never address this shit in the films. Why?

That's marketing, anon. Press releases, official statements, etc. They gush about how special the movie is because it's literally their job to make it look good.

That doesn't mean you're wrong for thinking it's obnoxious and stupid, though. I hate the marketing campaign that tries too hard to rely on Star Wars' legacy and status as a cultural icon. If anything, this whole Star Wars soft reboot is causing people to become more critical and tired of the franchise entirely.

The prequels' failure was completely attributed to George Lucas personally, but this new brand of Star Wars has that sense of corporate manipulation to it, and I think people aren't going to take the bait much longer.
