Keaton as Vulture was wasted, it barely qualifies as a villain. Mid-credits scene hints at a redemption arc.

There was more Tony than I expected. He's got two scenes that don't feature Spidey and even then he stole the show.

I felt like it was surprisingly humorless for being a Spider-man movie or maybe the "hip" humor didn't connect with me and at 25 I'm too old.

Jokes as in quips? You know the answer. Chuckles at Tony. Can't believe I wanted to see more Iron Man in a Spider-man movie, I was one of the people who complained about him stealing the spotlight.
Audience was either very polite or kinda underwhelmed, RDJ got chuckles. I'm only personally but again, the humor didn't hit me. It felt like they made a list of modern things teens say/do and crossed it one by one.

i made a human spider shirt and i really wanna wear it to see the movie and make friends with spider bros in line, but i wont go if this movie is all studio trash

When Tony: MCU
When not Tony: Disney tv show. Zendaya didn't help matters.

Raimi's Spidey remains the best (SM3 doesn't exist in my universe), I can't believe that anyone legitimately thinks that this one is the definitive Spider-man.

>>84336399
thanks, but im still worried. i've been tired of iron man and tony since like halfway through 3. the only moment i actually cared about his character was in civil war and he gives that sad look to cap after finding out about his parents i dont hate him, but seeing him in everything is exhausting. having him take over my spiderman movie has me concerned. is he in the final battle? i hate the way the trailer implies he fixes spideys mistake with the boat thing.

I'm really sad Garfield won't get to play Spidey again. Voice wasn't whiny like Tobey or Justin Biebery like Holland. And the quips were funny. Not just your typical MCU garbage. Real unfortunate thing was that the plot and the villains of the sequel sucked.

do you think Holland isn't a pussy? Did you think grimdark Spidey was good? (Admittedly the only thing I liked in ASM was Aunt May seeing Peter bruised)

I wish Andrew, Emma, and Dane had been in a Raimi movie with the rest of the cast the same. Would have been top notch.

>I don't know how to explain it, it's very "millennial" and teen/pre-teen oriented. A very long Disney Channel episode.

Dead on arrival confirmed, I'm actually worried about Venom
>>
>>84342676
I am in no way deending Holland. But Garfield had more confidence as Spidey and no whiny voice, unfortunate grimdark setting aside. He was funny. Quippy, but not with the MCU types of jokes that fall flat like references to not knowing Star Wars and shit. Tobey had no quips at all. Maybe said Gobby a few types, but that was it.
>>
>>84342720
I'm actually kind of excited about a rated R Venom movie. Need to see a trailer, but I'm more excited for that than spiderman
>>
>>84342776
Spiderman 1 actually had a few quips. However I see why they didn't do it later on, especially with 2. It'd make no sense for Spiderman to quip at Doc Ock.
Fuck Spidey only had a couple of quips in the 2 ASM movies. only 2 I can think of, and 1 was VERY out of place

This is true, but I honestly think we should start using the term "millennial" to refer to kids born IN the new millennium. It makes more sense, and it's how the majority of people use the term today. Call the "old millennials" Gen Y, which is another term for the group that used to be a lot more popular before the 2000s
>>
>>84344348
>So assblasted for being labeled a Millennial he wants to arbitrarily change the time frame of it
>>
>>84343390
This. I wouldn't care if he was the new Osborn or whatever, but a short, scrawny Indian kid as the big bully doesn't make sense. Maybe if he was one of flashes followers it'd work, especially for comedic relief, but when he's a good few inches shorter than the guy he's bullying, who's short himself it doesn't make much sense. It made sense in TASM because Garfield was a fucking Lanklet, while flash was a beefy dude who could clearly beat the shit out of him. Fuck. This fucking movie is like people who've never been to any sort of public school trying to imagine what that would be like. Don't let Hollywood elites write about everyday people

TASM was the anti-Raimi Spidey. While Raimi Spidey made a lot of mistakes with Spidey, they made up for it with everything else. Meanwhile, TASM characterised Peter perfectly, everything else was shit
>>
>>84344714
Exactly. The two leads (especially Tobey) sucked in the Raimiverse. Everything else was wonderful. In the Amazing movies, Andrew and Emma were fantastic. The rest of it sucked. Though the first one still managed to be pretty good.

No it very didn't. That's the whole reason it sucks.

>I don't like Venom

I'm not deep into MCU, so maybe someone can answer me this:
Why is Robert Downey Jr. featured so prominentaly on a Spider-Man poster? I know he's in the movie and sorta-best-buddies with Spider-Man (whatever that means for Tony Stark), but this is not an Iron Man movie, is it? Or is it like Civil War, which was a Captain America movie but could've been an Iron Man movie just as well? Also I thought Downey Jr. was pulling out of the MCU, so why is he so big in the new Spider-Man?
>>
why did they hire such a manlet its off putting
>>
>>84347565

One of the requirements was being shorter than RDJ.
>>
>>84333639
He's British. They'll overrate him.
>>
>>84347392
I think it always calls back to the fact that this a Marvel made Sony movie. Smacking RDJ all over the promotional material (and maybe the whole film, I dunno) is an attempt at a "seal of quality" from Marvel's side of things. It's like saying, "trust us this time, this movie is different from the other Spidermans" and it is, this is the first Spiderman movie to feature other superheroes. I expect RDJ to have a few scenes and influence the plot in a few ways, but I don't think he'll be as prominent as he was in Civil War.

Honestly though, in a way the story they're using reminds me of the first issue of Amazing Spiderman from 1963, where Spiderman has to prove himself to the most popular Marvel characters of the time, the Fantastic Four. Except in this updated version, he's now proving himself to the Disney Marvel Brand mascot character.

millenial is basically an insult used by old people to tell kids to get off their lawn.

these old people are living longer so its the same cranky old guy from the 80s whos still alive today so "millenial" covers every kid hes seen from the mid 80s until now. seriously the span for being a "millenial" is absurd compared to the other gens. I was born in 87, grew up without a computer until i was probably 16, no cel phone until college, facebook wasnt a thing until my second year of college and i'm still lumped in with a kid born in 2001 post 9/11 world. fuck that i have NOTHING in common with a kid from that era.

its literally only because the elderly are living for so long and they decide the generation cut offs and they really have no idea the difference between these "generations" AND with technology changing so quickly and thus life style changing so quickly a 5-8 year difference is more of a different world to grow up in than a 10-15 year difference in the 50s-80s era.

Gen Y, 90s kids, millenials. there should really be three generations here but it all gets lumped in as one and they don't have much in common with each other.
>>
>>84358206
Generation Z (also known as Post-Millennials, Plurals, or the Homeland Generation in the United States) is the demographic cohort after the Millennials. There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years ranging from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, and as of yet there is little consensus about ending birth years.

A significant aspect of this generation is the widespread usage of the Internet from a young age; members of Generation Z are typically thought of as being comfortable with technology, and interacting on social media websites for a significant portion of their socialising. Some commentators have suggested that growing up through the Great Recession has given the cohort a feeling of unsettlement and insecurity.[citation needed]

its literally because old people are living so long and they see all the "kids" they've seen for the past 30 years as one generation.
