BOB is an entity. LAURA is a person.

BOB is the evil entity created by MOTHER. Or like, expelled through her. Or something.

The counterpart to this evil is LAURA. But Laura the lodge spirit and Laura the person are separate. I don't know why, but they look the same. That's why Laura doesn't recognize Coop in the beginning of this season, it's why the little person in red calls her his "cousin". the Laura in the lodge is not the laura in real life. My guess is that with the first atomic bomb test, pure evil was created, which is BOB. The giant saw this and then created pure innocence which is Laura.

I think the woodsmen (the black monsters) are the beings that stole and ruined innocence of small town naivete, possibly even feeding off of garmonbozia.

I was half expecting the bug to crawl into the boys mouth and go on to be the first physical manifestation of BOB, but that didn't happen, so I don't know what the bug could be.

Woodsmen / Hobos (or as I call them, "Vagrants") are low spirits of the lodge who are more like a force of nature than pure evil. They act as messengers and facilitators and are attracted to electricity and other sources of both corporeal and spiritual energy. The explosion of the atomic bomb created rents in the fabric of space-time that vagrants are able to slip through. We see that the power surge at the convenience store attracts them and they gather there to feed on the energy (This is the origin of the "Room Above the Convenience Store" which is a Haunt, or a "nest" of lodge spirits where Bob and Mike later operate.)

The Vagrants are attracted to and assist BOB because of his powerful aura and because they sense that they will attain energy (garmonbozia) if they stay close to him. BOB, in turn, uses them as a support network of spies, agents and intermediaries (essentially minions). It's a symbiotic relationship.
