ratings for new episodes was never spectacular, but reruns on TBS and [as] always did really well

hence Fox canceling it, but TBS immediately picking it up. American Dad is worth more alive than dead to Time Warner because they'll air these episodes for years and years, and want to keep adding more to the pile.

I feel like the new TBS episodes are REALLY try-hard and forced. The show after season 1 was REALLY good, and then TBS got hold of it and forced the shit out of it so the new stuff isn't that great.
