I'm kind of a connoisseur of these televangelists, not because I believe in their messages, but I'm interested in how they can gather these huge crowds, and Jim Bakker seems really shitty even compared to them. At least Joel Osteen doesn't trick them in spending their life savings on drums of food. It is pretty interesting. I've been to some mega churches, and their kind weird. I've been to a couple Mars Hill churches in Seattle. The lights were always dimmed, and a large part of the show was a rock band singing about Jesus. It was like being at a shitty rock concert. Went to a born again church, where they told me that Satan was inside me. Also been to a couple of mosques, and some Arab got super pissed because I unknowingly blocked he prayer path.

Last time I watched 700 Club, it started with this lobotomized guy talking about the news, a lot of it revolving around Israel. Then they would have these stories of people who suddenly got cured of their illnesses because they gave money to the show. Pat Robertson would show up and talk about how worried he is for the world, sometimes it would be funny, other times it would be too weird to laugh at.
