dancer in the dark.
dishonest film.
I liked it but fuck that ending. She got what she wanted and he got what he wanted but they just aren't together now for reasons unexplained. And then they show the alternate timeline where she gets famous still and he drops everything to follow her around and support her and that's the only way they can be together. What sort of ending is that?

the romance in the film was very dishonest
>suddenly fall in love

They achieved their dreams but not together as a couple. You don't get everything you want in life.

i thought it was wizard of oz

I get that but everything for her in the other timeline was the same so it just came across that if only he had given up his dreams and she kept hers they would have been fine. Which is kind of a weird note to end on.

That's a good point. I'm getting forgetful in my old age. So yeah, the Wizard of Oz is great.

If you watch again the alternate timeline has them in a more modest, yet nice house than Emma as a big star. There's no indication in the alternate timeline that Emma has become a huge A-lister.

Watch umbrellas of cherbourg (the biggest influence on la la land)
