Now that the dust have long settled, what is the general consensus of The Cable Guy?

I think is a good
The whole issue with the movie is about how dark the concept is, Carrey is not the charming dork, but an example of what TV can do to someone who as grown with american television as only friend.
The final speech of JimĀ“s characters is pure kino.

I think it helped Carrey to be able to leave the comedy in order to move to more dramatic roles. Is pretty much is transition film.
I like it a lot more than both Ace Ventura, is unconfortable to watch for sure, but is by far a more ambitious movie.

>what TV can do to someone who as grown with american television as only friend.
So.. average /tv/ user?
>>84253349
Honestly, I think it's Jim Carrey's best comedy film.

Pretty much the regular 4chan user except /a/ they are fucked in a diferent way

It was good shit.

based Jerry Cantrell's song for it was good, too.

Wow David Lynch sure did a good job on this music video
>>84253349
It's awesome. Carrey plays that character a little too well, so it kinda straddles the line between fucking disturbing and hilarious.
This scene is kino, right?

Hits too close to home
It's good. Not as accessible as Dumb and Dumber or Ace Ventura, but still very entertaining. Even though some parts don't make me laugh, I appreciate just how far they were willing to go with the concept.

Probably jim carrey's best movie. It isn't overrated like the mask or ace ventura either. I was surprised when I learned people hated it or thought it was meh.
>>84253349
Love it.
Always loved all of Carrey's old silly comedies.
This is one of the best.
>>84253349
Really underrated, was always one of my favorite Carrey films. Even as a kid when it didn't hit as close home.
>>84253349
Unfairly maligned but ultimately not the greatest movie ever, either. I think it has like four or five of the funnier scenes/moments from comedies at that time, though:
-Medieval Times fight
-basketball scene
-stuff with Ben Stiller as the twins
Overall, though, not really a movie I want to watch from start to finish all that often. I think one problem is that I just find it hard to really care about Matthew Broderick's character at all.
>>84253349
I hate the majority of Jim Carrey's stuff and I despise Ben Stiller.
Why was this kino to me?

Still keks me everytime. I love these kinds of secret layers in comedies or whatever they're called.

>he was definitely ... ASIAAAAAN
Just his delivery makes me crack me up.

Would Eric Roberts in Brother, Sweet Brother have been kino?

AYYYYYYSJUUN

The Mask is Jim's best movie, but this is his funniest.

DON'T YOU WANT SOMEBODY TO LOVE

We're way byond that now.
We're onto a generation where the internet is young lads' only friends.
There should really be a new Cable Guy movie about people whose only social interaction is through computer screens and they fap to more degenerate shit by the day.
