SOMEBODY TELL SOFIA TO STAY AWAY FROM CAPESHIT! SHE IS TOO GOOD FOR THIS
>>
>>84242015

Kingsman was based on a comic book, ergo she's already starred in capeshit according to this board.

Also who gives a fuck about this big nosed French whore anyway, get a life.

Be nice to such a Goddess!

I so hope she returns for a Mummy sequel
>>
>>84242093
Someone seriously needs to write to her and say how good she was as the Mummy. WHY hasn't she posted anything new??

FUCK YOU CRITICS FOR UPSETTING HER
>>
>>84242015
Her biggest problem is that she can't handle negativity, which sadly is something every actor gets a LOT of. I hope she'll get over that because I want to see more of her as an actress.
>>
>>84242015
She is amazing.

She was hot as fuck in Kingsman. She was literally the only good thing about Star Trek Beyond. I might see The Mummy (which looks terrible) just to see her.
>>
>>84242200
If you're going just for Sofia, then definitely go see The Mummy. She's so beautiful and seductive in it, and has a few asskicking scenes as well.
>>
>>84242115
So you want her to keep getting emotionally abused by the Cruise Missile?

Some friend you are.
>>
How about the role as my gf
>>
>>84242167
The Mummy is like her 3rd movie (2nd movie after Kingsman if you don't count her dancing movie she did first since).

Since she is a new actress, I hope Cruise and others are supporting her and telling her to not give any shits about what the critics say and besides: the problems that the Mummy had, had nothing to do with her performance at all so hope she realizes this.

>So you want her to keep getting emotionally abused by the Cruise Missile?
She posted a funny vine of her talking to a skeleton and acting out Cruise's Tropic Thunder "FUCK YOUR OWN FACE" line that she posted on her twitter.

I do not believe in these "Cruise pushed her too hard during the filming" rumors that have been going around.

>She's so beautiful and seductive in it
That was the point as the director said he wanted this Mummy to seduce the audience and of course it worked 100%
>>
>>84242284
Exactly. I would hate to see her drop out of acting because of it, but she does kinda seem like the type of person who focuses on the good in life.
>>
>>84242421
>but she does kinda seem like the type of person who focuses on the good in life.
Yeah in an interview she said she never feels hatred for anyone while saying how when she was the Mummy, the director was telling her "think of someone you despise" and she says she doesn't feel like that about anyone.

Very sweet person :)
>>
>>84242077
Was Ghost World capeshit then?
>>
>>84242015

I could see her playing a throwaway mutant in one of the X-men films.

Like Blink in DoFP. Shows up, looks cool, has a cool action scene, like 2-3 lines, never seen again.

oh and James Bond is retroactively capeshit because he's pretty much just a superhero with gadgets like Batman

WOW RUDE! She is an actress that deserved lots of screen time. So annoyed they killed her character in Kingsman and that she won't be in the sequel

She played a romantic Goddess in the Mummy and nailed the role!

When you think outside of the box: Tom Cruise's the Mummy is a very unique film that combines lots of genres, following the 1932 Mummy film more than the Brendan Fraser one did. No it isn't perfect but it so deserves a sequel and more respect than it has gotten.
>>
>>84242015
>SHE IS TOO GOOD FOR THIS
she really isn't
>>

>professional dancer and very athletic

Of course she is too good for generic capeshit

Gadot's got nothing on her

This. Te problem is, mostly mummy films sucked. Even 40s ones.

Original Universal:
>Mummy 1932 - 1st and 'original', but basically Dracula-copy set to Egypt.
>Mummy's Hand 1940. 1st part is just nonsense, movie is 60 minutes long but without any consequences You can (should) skip 1st half. Actual movie from then, becomes great.
>Mummy Tomb 1942 - nonsense with Mummy killing in random USA town. Copy/paste (literally, belive me) best parts of Mummys Hand.
>Mummy Ghost 1944 - same nonsense as previous, just ending is changed
>Mummy Curse 1944 - literally same movie as previous. Terrible craaaaap.

Hammer Films:
>Mummy 1959 - kinda retelling mix of previous Universal ones
>Curse of Mummy Tomb - hmm hard to say, again mix of previous ones.
>Mummys Shroud 1967 - intresting begining, changed story rest terrible
>Blood from Mummy Tomb - GARBAGE.

80s-90s:
>Mummy Lives 1993 - blaah,
>Tale of Mummy 1998 - stupid and ugly
>Mummy 1999 - THIS ONE IS FINE BUT MADE TO COMEDY :S, so are it's sequels
>Mummy 2017 - lacking badly but compared to listed bellow, top4 or top5 Mummy movies actually.

Why noone never made proper Mummy Horror? Only worth are:
>1932 Mummy,
>2nd half of 1940 Mummy Hand
... long time nothing,
>Hammer 1959 film
.... nooooothing
>and 1999 comedy (but not really horror)
>Then with big hopes 2017 reboot gets totoally railed.

Literally, Cruise's mummy is actually in top5 best Mummy movies no matter how.

People complain about Sofia Mummy not being a crawling corpse for long but does anyone remember that the Mummy in the 1932 one literally is only in the bandages for not even a minute? The rest of the movie is him walking around like a normal human being.

HOW do you call this horror when your actual horror segment is only 1 minute long?

Okay the museum bit with the security guard using a torch to find the Mummy had potential but then the lights are turned on and he is killed off screen... WHY
>>
>>84247712
this. Mostly mummy are actual horror love stories.

I mean the main leads really did sell the movie and were great in their roles but overall the movie just isn't "horror" as people say it is

But what's great is that the Tom Cruise movie got the romance down exactly how it is in the 1932 one
>>
>>84247783
thats why really liked 2017 one. Can ignore flaws and mistaken humour, the story is actually pretty close but diffrent take

>Mostly mummy are actual horror love stories.
So what's the hate with the Tom Cruise movie? Sure it has problems but the story isn't weak at all. The only thing that makes it weak is that it doesn't make you care for the blonde girl as you should but otherwise there is nothing wrong with the story (the ghost sidekick does get annoying with his comedy though).

Have all these critics just watched the Brendan Fraser movie?
