One of these things for example, is the fact that the revival broke Showtime's signups for it's streaming services which is huge. This is what's most important for Showtime.

If Twin Peaks can continue to bring attentino to Showtime, it will get renewed as long as Lynch himself wants to continue and he expressed his interest in doing so. The problem here is if they will continue to give him the freedom he wants, or would they want to make some adjustments.

FWWM was a great movie but fucked with the lore and arguably made it worse. The ring, the garmonbozia, making the story "more" than Twin Peaks. All mistakes, in my opinion.

People meme about Frost, but he's much better with the lore than Lynch is. Most of the stuff in Secret History built off of Lynch's additions in FWWM and the finale. Lynch is 100% the aesthetic/style/characterization of Twin Peaks, though.
