Yeah, that's if Moffat's writing ever makes it any fun at all. Which he very rarely does since it's usually either "timey wimey" or "The doctor was actually a robot". Anyway, every episode puts the Doctor in peril. There's always a risk of the Doctor dying so long as there's a reasonable threat in the episode. This is what makes turning it into an arc a huge waste of time. The standalone episodes should do that by themselves, not morph a full series into "The Doctor is totally dying, honest".
