Why does Wolowitz get so much shit for being an engineer? Mechanical engineering is god-tier field of expertise. Also he knows what's up; it's boner time all the time.
Only bad thing is his Jew-ness.
literally one of thew jokes that made me laugh in the few episodes I've watched
>Hello Dr. Cooper, Dr. Hoftstader, Dr. Kootrapali... and mister Wolowitz.
>...I have a masters degree.
>Who doesn't?

It's a pretty tough field to be honest. Thermodynamics is probably the hardest collegiate course you can take. Anyone that can get past it has my respect.

>Lives with his mother at age 30-something
Reason enough to mock him, desu.

The pure focus on practical use can, sometimes, produce engineers with questionable values. But really it's because he's the odd one out, scientists and engineers give each other shit constantly. Actually scientists seem to shit talk everyone now that I think about it.

That joke made me laugh the first 99 times they used it.

Engineers favor practicality over principle. It helps them get shit done but it's not academically 'elegant'. Also, engineering math tends to be a lot of 'it just works' or 'good enough'.
It's just elitism though really.
