We can't really help it if it doesn't tickle your funny bone or not. Like Seinfeld, it's just of those sitcoms that objectively have really tight clever scripts and has been very influential to the medium.

Okay, but the writing just isn't that sharp. All four series of Blackadders shits on it, as well as Are You Being Served, and Yes Minister. Not making another series because the first was so good and acclaimed seems bizarre, but if any series could be so good, it isn't this one.
I was asking if it ever got better than the first two episodes, and if it doesn't, it's easier for me to believe that everyone else is wrong except me than there's some inherent genius to this show that I'm missing.
