I'm in film school too. And the people posting shit like "hurr you don't learn any real skills, enjoying paying thousands of dollars to watch movies" are so ignorant of what film school is really about.
It's all about the connections.
In my class, there's a guy whose father is already a director (not a big name one, probably more on the fame level of Elliot Rodger's dad, that kind of director), and he wants to become a director too.
We're all friends in the class, and i'm sure these connections will come in handy in the future.
I would never make these connections by "going to films" like Autism-tino did.

Not that anon, but in my uni, in our last year one of our lecturers only had set material for the first half of the course. The second half, he had guides and ideas, but decided what to teach based on what we were interested in

This was for an epistemology module in philosophy. It was a really fucking hard module too.

Lecturers can basically do whatever the fuck they want with regards to teaching
