Women are worse actors because they mimic what they see, and other actresses they like. Male actors (the good ones, Brando, Phoenix, DDL, Fassbender) put actual pain in their lives onto the screen. It's humiliating and degrading, and most female actresses just aren't willing to do that (well, the non-porn ones at least).

Once they get money and fame, they get all full of themselves and cocky, and lose any talent they once had. Look at Jennifer Lawrence in Winter's Bone, pretty good performance, she's done nothing even close ever since. She feels like that stuff is beneath her now.

For the inverse, look at McConaughey. He could have easily just done more easy flicks, but he has too much pride in his work for that. So he picked some personal, degrading roles, like Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective to show how good he really was. Female actresses never put their career in that direction.

That was kind of my point. Actresses make a big deal out of winning Oscars when the award is nothing more than who can lobby the hardest. What was the last female performance that was truly engrossing to watch? There's no female equivalent to Daniel Plainview or Vito Corleone or Travis Bickle - I could go on.
