>The Mummy’ Will Lose $95M
>After consulting a number of film finance sources, the Universal Tom Cruise movie stands to lose an estimated $95M off of a final estimated global box office tally of $375M. Divided that’s $75M at the domestic B.O., and $300M from overseas.
>This despite the fact that the movie was the biggest global opening ever for Tom Cruise at $169.3M. However, relative to the production investment here which we are informed is estimated at $345M in total production and global P&A spend (broken out $195M production cost and $150M distribution/ad expenses), those records –and even this weekend’s No. 1 overseas hold of $53M — are not enough to get Mummy over these hurdles.
is this the end? did someone finally bruise the cruise?

such bullshit, that would mean Tom was expecting to make 500 mil off his movie which is just absurd. He knows exactly how much his movies make.
The Curse of Fraser strikes again
Hes been bruising for many years now, hes finished
>>84094066
>a number of film finance sources familiar with Universal's thinking

>Hollywood accounting having any basis in reality
>Rock touches jumanji and journey to the center of the earth
>Tom touches The Mummy
Oh shit that curse is real you dont fuck with Fraser
>>84094066
>Cruise
>bruised
This has the highest international opening of his career, OP. Besides, if Rock of Ages couldn't bruise Cruise, he'll survive this one fully intact.
>>84094066
A-are we going to lose him, bros? Will The Cruise only make films outside of America now?
>>84094066
>a number of (((film finance sources)))

Absolute madman
>>84095248
Is this real?

>people still don't realize it's a fan account
b-but it's better than WW /tv/ said :C
>>84096375
It is.
And OP is full of shit.
The movie made more then enough internationally to offset the lackluster domestic sales.

God, my dick is diamonds thinking of that hot piece of immortal ass all bound and helpless, struggling like crazy for centuries trying to get loose.

sweet fragrant MUMMY pusy wrappings
>>84096596
Both movies are shit for different reasons.
The mummy is the least shittiest of the two.

Tfw none of us will ever get smothered to death under her perfect ass as she grinds and moans
Also, did cruise singlehandedly kill the universal monsterverse?

What point are you trying to make?

Please delete your response so that my message may stand unblemished by (You)s from retarded folk.
>people still think this movie has something to do with Brendan Fraser
>>84096810
No, trying to turn a series of 80+ year old atmospheric horror movies into a gigantic action movie franchise was a retarded idea from the outset. Can't blame Tom for scoring an easy payday off of a bunch of retarded executives and producers.
>>84097362
It literally does, though. The book used to resurrect Imhotep in the 1999 Mummy makes an appearance in this new one.
>>84097362
Normies disgust me.
>>84097396
The Mummy came out like 20 years ago not 80.
>>84097988
You know the 1999 Mummy itself is a remake, right?
>>84098943
Same as The Fly or Scarface are. Literally no one cares about that 30s crap
>>84099011
Except Tom Cruise and the other actors signing up to do new versions of them, I suppose.
>>84095487
This. It made tripple the box office second weekend.
It could make $400 million by next weekend

>Dark Universe is dead meme
Can people stop posting this shit?
Domestically The Mummy didn't do to good. But internationally, it was a very good success (and in fact internationally beat out Wonder Woman).
Regardless of how well the movie did, Universal Studios has set it up so that each film in the universe will get varying budgets based on how much the movie actually needs. What this translates to, is that even if a Dark Universe movie does okay at the box office, there will be more guaranteed.
Shouldve gotten Fraser to star
>>84100470
After the colossal turd that was the 2008 Mummy movie with him and Jet Li? No thanks, the time has passed.

You'll get through puberty one of these days, virgins...
>>84100470
>Should have got Fraser to star in a movie that's completely removed from the ones he was in and is in fact not a reboot or continuation of his mummy movies
And Fraser should have been in Wonder Woman too.

>success
>set to lose 90mil+
Sure thing Tom
>>84101470
It's already made its budget back. Factor in cross-promotion and theme park ticket sales, they're gonna be fine. It'll probably also make another 20+ million on home video.
Why does every movie cost at least tens of millions of dollars to produce now? It just seems like a well directed movie with a smaller budget has much better returns than any $100m+ movie that just tries to use money to cover its shortcomings
>>84101683
Advertising. They spend several times the original budget advertising the thing in really overbloated ways.
>>84101683
penetrating the market is hard these days. most cities have only one big theatre that plays the blockbusters.
>>84094066
>work at a movie theater
>minimum time we keep a movie is two weeks, always
>Transformers is getting an early open Tuesday
>we're losing the Mummy
>instead of fucking Pirates of the Caribbean 5
>Pirates came out last month
>Mummy release: June 9th
>losing Mummy: June 21st
First time I've ever seen a major release leave before the two week mark.
The thing is, it's still doing better than Pirates, but they're forcing us to push it out.
God bless, Dark Universe. I want the schlock you're promising.
>>84102957
I genuinely don't get why everyone is bidding a fond farewell to the Dark Universe. Yes it's a rehash of a rehash but I'd much rather see another interpretation of those characters than a Transformers or Pirates or whatever the fuck else hollywood has. That being said I ain't seeing The Mummy, no way.
>>84103183
People are put off by how blatant the whole thing is. They announced the universe before they had the first goddamn movie out. That one group photo they released screams "look at us, we're like the Avengers".
I can't take it seriously because it just reminds me of League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen.

This must be the biggest BTFO since the very same shills working for CTR lost the election last year
