His latest project Overlord, which will be a supernatural thriller set in the World War II era on the eve of D-Day written by Billy Ray and Mark Smith and produced by Abrams and Lindsey Weber, will be starring Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers, Fences) and Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street, Cowboys & Aliens) with Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones), Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones), Dominic Applewhite (The King’s Speech), Iain de Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), John Magaro (Carol), Mathilde Ollivier (The Misfortunes of Francois Jane) and Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo). Here is an official description of the film:
>On the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success. But as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.
In a press release from Deadline, it has been confirmed that the film will be released in theaters by Paramount on October 26, 2018. So far, Abrams’ film is the only major release set for next year’s October 26 date with other production companies’ films like The Girl in the Spider’s Web from Sony and Jungle Book: Origins from Warner Bros. releasing the week prior on October 19, 2018. Disney will also be releasing their live-action version of Mulan and Fox will be releasing Dark Phoenix the following weekend on November 2, 2018. So, as of now, it looks like Overlord should be able to win its opening weekend at the box office.
Ready for more evil supernatural nazis?

Man, they just keep making the Nazis seem cooler and cooler.
Jungle book: origins? I thought made a deal Holly wood, I'm tired of monkeying around.

The concept sounds cool, but it will probably be full of heavyhanded and preachy political messages
Why can't they take a hint from Japan and make supernatural Nazi's cool
What will be supernatural about these nazis /tv/?

Its always bugged me how many movies and games and books lean on them when they need a generic bad guy.
If there were no nazis, what would everyone fight against?
He thinks he can just go on after permanently screwing up both Star Wars and Star Trek? No. He can take his movie and shove it right up his ass.
