The TV series does contain one of the most graphic rape scenes you'll ever see.

Everything is absolutely worth a watch. The only dip in quality is '88 but even then it's great.

Plus us Brits like to keep things brief, so the whole affair is only as long as one season of American TV.

The tone of the tv show is very different, and I still don't consider it as good as the movie, but it's alright. The show is basically a soap.

I find a lot of our films are made in a similar vain to This Is England, but with smaller budgets and so-so acting. I guess you could try these though:
