Anyone else ever feel like this? It seems to be my experience almost every season. Why does OITNB handle the end of every season fairly well, but suck so much the rest of the time?

It's because of the characters. Most of them suck. If the show dropped the meth heads, piper, the sjw black chick, and the tranny, it would be a lot stronger.

Having worked the last twelve years in corrections I can tell you that if inmates took control of a housing unit the response would involve shitloads of tear-gas, rubber buckshot and live rounds for anyone who doesn't get to the floor with their hands behind their head after one verbal command.
