The way light was used in that movie was great, it starts at night, stays dark until the protagonist has seen war, then lights up, goes dark and grey again towards the end.
Alien 3 under rated? That was a comic book of a movie, ew.

I disagree. It's his least ambitious, in terms of script, themes, structure and aesthetics, not to mention expectations due to the cast, characters, setting, and genre. It marked Mann's decline artistically and commercially, the first movie that anyone could have directed, it lacked his "touch," which is the worst thing that can happen to a director of pure kino.
