it's literally contrarianism. action movies typically build up hype around a "boss" character throughout the movie and it culminates to a epic fight scene but since they rarely live up to the hype, it's considered quirky and clever to not bother trying. fucking hipsters

movie never hyped her up. She's given a bit more texture then the normal henchman, sure, but she typically just chatted with John when she wasn't doing normal henchmen stuff.

Movie was fucking fantastic though. Best action movie in a long while I'll say that for sure
