I like where this is going.
I came across that q2 fan edit of FWWM a while ago and downloaded it for later use.
I read left and right that if you're really interested in the series, you're actually supposed to watch the missing pieces separately.
is this true? Should I be looking for that? I don't mind watching a longer version of FWWM if it's well done.
>>83941662
Literally cry harder. I got into some debt with some shady people after assuming the crazy post-election returns would keep going
I need that fucking SALT
>>83941834
It is well done, but it messes with the tone and pacing of the film for the sake of completionism.
If you've already watched FWWM, the fanedit is a good watch and probably a better companion to the series. FWWM is a far better standalone "film"

However, there's one thing people won't stop discussing and it's kind of absurd sounding (but I guess nothing is too absurd when you're discuss David Lynch's works.) In one scene, you (Janey-E) are stacking plates after eating sandwiches with Kyle M. (Dougie).
>This all sounds pretty normal, EXCEPT, you stack the empty plate on top of a plate that has a sandwich still on it, thus smashing the unfinished sandwich. Was this something you did on your own as improv or was this actually in the script? It was so surreal that it fit Lynch's universe perfectly. Is this how you stack plates in real life?

One Awesome Motherfucker.
The sheriff did it. Why? Because no one would ever suspect him. And
just think of how good he'll look when he catches the `killer'. He's
going to frame someone, I don't know who.
Remember how old the mayor is? That's right, he's going to retire,
and guess who's going to run for mayor? That's right, the sheriff,
who is a power-hungry sociopath.
You want to know how he did it? He started a cult that the town is
going to blame the murder on. Many people know about the cult and are
in it, but it's very secret. The only evidence thus far is the scene
where Bobby and his best friend are `barking' at J. in the town
prison. When Bobby started `barking', his friend joined in
immediately indicating it's something they've done before. I maintain
they do it at meetings of the cult.
The evil sheriff theory also explains why he is seducing the richest
woman in Twin Peaks...
More developments on Friday when I have a completely different set of
theories!

HELLLOOOO-ooooooo-OOOOOOO
Some of you may recall that toward the end of the initial season,
and long before the Major disclosed his SETI connection, I posted a note to
the effect that I believed Cooper was an alien (without knowledge of the
fact), that some other characters were aliens, and that the ideas of alien
visitation and alien abductions (killings, implants, etc.) were the basis
underlying everything that goes on in Twin Peaks. So much for setting my
priority on the idea.
Now I want to extend that theory further. I think virtually
everyone in Twin Peaks is an alien, masquerading in one or more human
skins. I think it is a staging area for alien anthropology field teams that
are checking out this planet. Some points:
1) The government may not be in on it, but it's aware enough that
something is going on to put a SETI listening post near Twin Peaks.
2) Cooper has unusual powers, as do several other Twin Peaks
characters, yet his inability to remember his true origin as an alien and his
deep cover role manifests in the childlike wonder with which he views the
planet.
3) The various groups moving in and out (Icelanders, Norwegians,
orientals, military units, etc.) are simply field teams coming and going
about their business.
4) Bob is to the alien community what Lucifer is to Christian
mythology -- the fallen angel, the renegade. Mike is the good angel and is
doing battle to prevent Bob from creating further damage and frustrating
the purpose of the mission. But Bob is good at what he does and therein
lies the main conflict in the Twin Peaks saga.
ONE ONE NINE
ONE ONE
NINE
>>83944180
5) Some of the key townspeople, such as Ben Horne and Sheriff
Truman, are local organizers of the alien expedition and are responsible for
the flow of personnel and information. Ben Horne has the hotel, of course,
which is a perfect cover for lots of travel; and Harry Truman has the
communications capability to monitor what's happening.
6) The giant is probably the head of the alien task force and
manifests himself to Cooper in an attempt to help Cooper restore his
identify and to fight the renegade alien Bob.
7) The dramatic personality shifts (e.g., Donna) are probably due to
problems associated with the aliens' struggle with their human identities.
8) One-Eyed Jack's is simply a lab for observing human behavior
under special conditions.
9) The owls are similar to the AI animals in Blade Runner --
observation mechanisms placed about to keep track of particular activities
under investigation.

Welp, time to read the secret diary, I guess.
It's like WTH people? Really, what was that? No, it is not intelligent or compelling in any way shape or form. In all honesty, if anything, it's like a bad joke being perpetrated on the viewers.
Let me try and save some of you the pain:
You have five minutes of people speaking verrrrrrrrry slowwwwwwwwwwwwly . -End Scene
You then get maybe six minutes of some guy doing nothing but unloading a truck. (I'm serious). - End Scene
You then get four minutes of a guy sitting in a chair. (No, I am not kidding you). -End Scene
Five or so minutes of ridiculous dialogue between two guys in a lodge that goes like: "Ahhh, Jerry. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me." (Yes, the song. Spoken.) "Is that mother's hat?" -End scene
RFLMAO then MY favorite, you get 7-10 minutes of a doofy man handing a business card to a receptionist with a drawly, high-pitched, slowwww voice and speech pattern who would not qualify for the Special Olympics. Dialogue: "Hello, I'd like to see sheriff Truman." "Which one?" (<< Pause, repeat 2'xs). "Sheriff Truman isn't here?" "Well, do you know which one it could make a difference." (There was no pause so I didn't add any punctuation). "No ma'am." "Ummm. One is sick and the other fishing." "Urrrrghhh ..." "It could make a difference." (Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and dead air pause). "It's about insurance." (Shorter pause). "I'm not sure I'll be able to help you." "I'd like to see Sheriff Truman." (Woman looks a little confused within long pause, then more confused longer pause). "I'll leave my card and call another day." "Thank you. I'll ..." while man walks out the door. - End Scene.
Three minutes of headlights on a dark dirt road. - End scene.
Three to four minutes of another two guys sitting in a couple of chairs in a trailer. - End Scene

Some observations/speculations about episode 4
1) Laura/Madeleine Theory (same person)
When Madeleine shows up Leland asks her "Madeleine, is that really you?"
She never answers. This lends support to the double theory.
2) Dr. Haywood Theory
Doctor Haywood is fighting with Albert to get the body buried. Is
he afraid of what Albert may find? This lends support to the theory
that Dr. Haywood saw Laura go bad and wants to kill her.
3) Runing Jokes
Did anyone else notice the coffee cup in the secret passageway just
before Audrey opened the peep hole?
4) Bobby and the cross
Some people have noted that Bobby was bending his arms back in front of
the cross just before hs dad entered into meaningful dialogue with him.
Actually I thought he was imitating Jesus on the cross, and this was
martyr/Jesus symbolism. After that and his speech at the funeral
("We're all resposible") I think Bobby is supposed to be one of the
good characters. (If you can consider a drug dealer who's cheating on
his girlfriend good ...)
5) Spoiler to Euro-version
In a rolling stone article on TP, one of the actors states that the
Euro-version had an ending that involved among other things "time-travel".
This certainly lends weight to the Mike and Bobby from the future
theory. I'm hopeful that Lynch will end the North American version on
a more realistic note.
I have plenty more observations to make, but I'll have to go back, watch
the tape and write them down. Till then...

How Lynched are audreyfags going to be?
I saw Bob at Horne's Department Store in Twin Peaks yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him to murder me or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen cans of creamed corn in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the cans and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each can and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept raping her and yawning really loudly.

>>83944449
Why is Harrison Ford the co-creator of Twin Peaks?
TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME is a terrible movie. I was quite
fond of the television series, but this movie has none its charm I
always suspected that all the mysterious little phrases (e.g., "the owls
are not what they seem") and weird symbolic objects in the series didn't
mean much, but I didn't care because there were so many great characters
to watch. The subplots were interesting.
In the movie, there are no subplots. It is the story of how Laura
Palmer died, and we already know how she died. The bulk of the movie
consists of Laura Palmer acting weird, crying, snorting cocaine, running
around with her good boyfriend James and her bad boyfriend Bobby, and
turning into a prostitute. Her friend Donna tries to stop her by going
along with her. Has David Lynch jumped on the war-on-drugs bandwagon?

If this were done well, depicting the gradual degradation of
Laura's life due to drug use, the pressures of adolescence, and living
with a nutty father, and showing the parallel development of the evil
forces which eventually kill her, TWIN PEAKS: FWTM could have been a good
movie. A lot of Stephen King's best stuff is like that. But there is
no character development. The scenes follow each other in no logical
order. Mix them up and you would have the same movie. Laura acts
pained. Her father, Leland, acts possessed. Laura gets over it and
seems okay but meek. Leland smiles and seems ashamed of his outburst.
Laura hangs out with the wrong crowd. Shea cries a lot, a weird kid
jumps around in a mask, there is a lot of meaningless, empty symbolism,
etc, etc, and when it becomes time for the movie to end Laura dies. And
about that title: "Fire Walk With Me." It comes from an utterance by
Laura in one of here pained periods. She says, slowly, as if each word
were loaded with significance, "Fire ... Walk ... With ... Me." It
means nothing. She could just as well have said "Elvis ... Ate ...
My ... Left ... Foot," and then the title would be "TWIN PEAKS: ELVIS
ATE MY LEFT FOOT."

This is pretty intense desu
I wish we got this Laura in FWWM rather than Sheryl Lee's impersonation of a screaming harpy
Rhonda is so fucking cute and sweet. I'd treat her to some fancy restaurant, than take a long romantic walk with her, holding hands and talking about coffee, urinating in the wrong bathroom, and dreams. Then I'd invite her to my home and ravage her hot ass for hours, and forcing my cock up her throat so she choked on both the throbbing cock and her own rectal juice. I'd then proceed to cum on her cute innocent face. Then. as the ultimate love gift, I'd carry her in my arms to the tub and let my piss wash away the semen and last dignity from her. I'd wisper "I love you" and give her a tender smile, and cut her throat from ear to ear with a knife. Covered in her own warm blood, she'd look straight into my very soul, forgiving, understanding. A bubble from blood and saliva would burst between her lips, then she'd die. After some additional lovemaking, I'd stuff her into a bin bag. Three weeks later, some playing children will find her mutilated and desecrated body in the forest.
They will be scarred for life.

is this game worth playing?
IF YOU PLAN on seeing "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me," bring a book.
You won't be able to read it in the darkened theater, of course, but
it should still provide more entertainment than what's on the screen.
Feel the binding. Flip through the pages. Wear it on your head. By
the time this movie - and calling it that presumes, wrongly, that it
moves - ends, playing with your book will seem like high adventure.
David Lynch's long-gone and unlamented [Fucker!] TV series "Twin
Peaks" began with a two-hour pilot that was truly exciting television, and
from there it was all downhill. Lynch seemed to lose interest. Other
directors of the series managed to capture Lynch's obscurity without
turning out anything particularly compelling. By the time it was
cancelled, the series seemed to be daring viewers to try to watch it.
Which they couldn't. With "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me," a "prequel"
to the series, Lynch is making the same challenge of moviegoers.
Anyone who managed to watch the show knows who killed Laura Palmer
(Sheryl Lee), the young woman in plastic wrap whose murder was the focus
of the first season [Don'tcha love how authoritatively pretentious they
are - especially when they're wrong?]. But Lynch wants to tell us again.
He also either is trying to justify the series or punish us for not having
watched it. Characters and bits of plot line appear and disappear without
explanation; there are so many hallucinations you give up trying to
determine what the different characters are or are not seeing; time is an
elusive quality. But that wouldn't bother a director who makes a movie
based on a canceled TV show so he can tell us a story whose ending we
already know.

Watch this LP instead: https://archive.org/details/LP_Deadly_Premonition
This is one of the handful of cases where watching an LP is actually the superior experience to playing the game yourself. SuperGreatFriend is in the top percentage of his craft, and his love and knowledge of the game is infectious.
He even includes mini-reviews complete with clips of the various 80s movies that the protagonist talks about to break up long car rides and busywork.

I found out Lynchs home address. I'm thinking about stopping by and seeing if I can talk to him. I live like 2 hours away. Should I film it? Maybe the camera would make him more comfortable because it's something he's familiar with? I know this kind of sounds like I'm joking but I am not. I have loved Lynch since I was a child and I would be so happy to meet him.

it's supposed to be about Laura, what the fuck were critics smoking when they reviewed this movie?
>>83946187
It drags a bit in the middle, but it's honestly not bad for what it is. If you like the Lewis and Clark stuff, you'll probably like the rest. It's a good read if you're interested in the expanded lore and doesn't really affect the show in any way.
The audiobook improves it. The memers on both sides of the coin on /tv/ are wrong. It's not required reading for the show, nor is it garbage.
