I didn't realize they closed it. You just made me realize I don't remember anything about the time I rode it.
>>
>>83929448
Backlot tour is literally kino

It's ironic that they got rid of back to the future and now most rides at universal are that 3d ride bullshit
>>
>>83929448
It's still open in based Nippon. They really have a weird obsession with back to the future.
>>
>>83929510
That one closed last year.
All the BTTF rides are dead.
>>
Jurassic Park will always be the GOAT movie ride. Indiana Jones is pretty fun too.

So are all rides in the future going to be super hero and star wars rides? Why did I have to miss all of this shit? I've only been to 6 flags.
>>
I would say Jurassic Park, as long as it's during the summer. I went to Universal Orlando at one point in January, and they shut the waterfall off that the T-Rex is supposed to burst through at the end before the drop. It was kind of lame seeing it sit there lifelessly until it was cued up.

I don't care what anyone says, the Transformers and Harry Potter 3D rides are awesome too. Hell, if you like Harry Potter at all, it's fun just drinking some pumpkin juice, and taking in the atmosphere while you're waiting in line for the ride.
>>
Adam the Woo has some good sneaky disney/universal videos

Bright Sun Films has some good information on abandoned attractions

What's some other abandoned kino?

loved the movies, didn't know they had a stunt show

It was in Australia. And Germany(? or somewhere in Europe) had one that was rebranded when they lost the rights.

>Jurassic Park
I remember when the ride first opened. it was awesome! my clothes were soaking wet. went back around at 2008 and I was disappointed. the spitting Dino didn't shoot water, some Dino was stuck under the water, rubber skin was all loose. the truck never fell down. but the drop is always fun. I heard they refurbished the ride hope they fix a lot
>>
>>83929752
ok that makes sense. I was thinking Universal Studios Hollywood

Is it true that these parks are loaded with smelly brown people 24/7? Some guy from /pol/ says they ship buses of rich brazilians to disney world and it's so crowded and smelly they ruin everything.

Wasn't he at least there for the opening of the ride? I swear I heard he was, but I can't find anything on it.
>>
>>83930079
When it comes to Universal Studios Hollywood, its always either smelly Mexicans or 6'5 Swedish dudes who can't even understand when the workers tell them that the rides are closed. I love how the videos they show waiting in line for the Simpsons line make fun of those exact type of foreigners.
>>
>>83929448
BttF overall and if include extinct rides. In terms of stuff that's still open, probably Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye.

And the Star Tours one
>>
Jungle cruise is litty
>>

the production value behind that ride was incredible
>>
>>83929448
The Indiana Jones ride was the coolest shit when it first came out. The car bucked you around and shit. The whole ride was really dark so going through the dart tunnel all you'd feel is random puffs of air like they were whizzing right by your face. So fucking great. Waiting in line had videos with Sallah talking about the story for the ride and shit. I hear it totally sucks now though. They brightened it up big so there's no scary darkness and the car barely bounces you around taking away the feel of being in a real off road vehicle bouncing through an unstable temple.
>>
>no relation to Disney
>placed in an arbitrary part of Magic Kingdom
>random storyline and characters
>completely and utterly terrifying

No ride will ever be this base. Ever.

BASED EISNER
>>
>>83930790
This was originally planned as a ride dedicated to the movie Alien. The reason it appears so random and unrelated to anything is because its a workaround to the fact that they couldn't secure the concept of using the Alien franchise as a ride since it was rated R and was way too frightening for children. Imagine a fucking titular in that room, it would only be suitable for adults.
IMO Disney should have a park dedicated to adult themed R rated rides based off of the original concepts to this.

George Lucas was brought in to refine the story.
>>
>>83929604
I rode that last year.
>>
>>83930790
wow thats cool
>>
>>83930790
If they came up with this when they had California Adventure, I bet we would have gotten the Rated R ride.
>>
this ride is pretty fucked up, especially for a kids ride

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWu6OThkq14
>>
>>83931126
they should have done something with the movie virus. would be too gory but animatronics would have been cool since they are robots.
>>
>>83931173
As a twelve year old with no idea what you're stepping into, it was one of those rides you wanted to go on again and again and again.
Even my moms husband was scared.

>>83931207
I would KILL for an exclusive Alien ride. I make a point to ride the great movie ride every time I go to holywood studios just for the Alien part.
>>
>>83931324
well they have that walking dead thing at Universal Studios Hollywood so hope they do something with their IP
>>
>>83931314
Haha that's a sick idea!

>>83931382
So true. Haven't been in about three years so I need to check out universal since it's been updated
>>
>>83930790
Replaced by boring stitch.
>>
>>83931471
They were getting complaints from parents for how scary it was. That's just how based this shit was.
>>
>>83931471
kids love it. but yeah. they should make something to cater the adults
>>
>>83931513
That's what I like about Universal, it's basically Disney, but for teenagers/adults. Especially around Halloween.
>>
>>83931570
Halloween is fun at Universal
>>
I remember the ET ride being much more elaborate than I thought it was going to be.

I think the Terminator show was cool but I'm not sure I remember right. Universal Studios was always underrated when compared to the other parks.
>>
>>83931742
dude I forgot about et ride, it was chill as fuck.
to bad they replaced it, but mummy ride is cool.
terminator was fun, bitch keep saying super was annoying
>>
>>83931668
Purge night was ridiculous last year. Can't believe they got away with some of that shit. Like there were sexy lady dancers up on pedestals. It was crazy.

Outta my way amusment park fucking shits, here is real Rollercoaster kino
>>
>>83932598
the idea of a roller coaster based on aerosmith seems so weird and dated now, i bet it gets turned into the some marvel thing soon.
>>
>>83932695
Aerosmith had a video game.
>>
>>83930790

Fun fact. This ride is now a karnival atraction in Germany.. it moves from town to town. I wonder how the owner ended up with it..

It was a real blast, to experience it with no/low expectations.
>>
>>83933227
That is untrue

>>83933227

>>
>>83929448
The Mad Men Motorboat was best
>>
>>83932695
Aerosmith were irrelevant when the coaster opened.

Anyway, that BTTF ride was awesome, much better than the Simpsons one which replaced it.

Anyone old enough to remember the Kong ride that was there before The Mummy?

And if you're about 30+, does anyone remember the Ghostbusters ride/show that was at Universal, it was where Twister used to be, which I also think has been shut now.
>>
>>83929561

Based Movie World bro.

I miss that too. Also the Looney Tunes river ride, Gremlines ride but most of all, the Batman ride which was the coolest experience ever.

But Disney has the theme park rights to Alien. The Xenomorph and Ripley are in The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
