I don't know if you guys saw both these movies but there's some weird parallels between them.
Both Get Out (2017) and The Invitation (2015) revolve around similar plot points - an interracial couple goes on a what is assumed to be a friendly get together that inevitably turn violent.
The difference is the male in Get Out is black while the male in The Invitation is white. Also the couple in The Invitation stay together at the end.
The only reason I noticed this though is the beginnings of both movies are kind of similar; they both feature an animal being run over by the respective protagonist - a coyote in The Invitation and a deer in Get Out. In The Invitation the main guy mercy kills the coyote and in Get Out he just leaves it to bleed out which is a plot point etc.
anyways I'm just wondering what this could mean

Just watched it last weekend. While it was alright, I can't believe it reviewed so well. I was left thinking is that it?

Get Out. I don't draw any connection between the two though. It's just pandering to the scene. It's not original at all, just a race based twist on old ideas..
