I seem to recall the story quality declining with the rise of production quality. So your best bet is probably an earlier or middle season.

Seasons 2-4 are prime in my opinion. First Season is still worth watching, kinda declines from season 5 onward. Best to watch in small doses otherwise the campiness can be overwhelming.
