the director said she hated the fact that her film will be marketed as a "womens film" because the lead is a woman and the director is a woman, but she told the story like any other hero character and didn't pay much attention to WW being a woman. Director absolutely loved Superman and wanted to reach that level of movie going experience, everything else was secondary.
