What does /tv/ think of this? I watched it for the first time last night and it might have been one of the best I've ever seen

This film made me legitimately want to be some kind of comfy Russian bloke in the country side.
>>
watch more films then hehe
just kidding, its one of the greats
35mm screening in austin soon, there was one in nyc earlier this year

You're definitely right though, I do need to watch more. I just recently got into film but this was one that I had recommended to me as a great starting point for "art films" and I guess just films that are actually worth watching. Do you have any recs if I liked this? Going to watch some more Tarkovsky, Bergman, Kubrick

Intolerance, Strike, Happiness (Dovzhenko)
the safer bet would be Sokurov, Lopushansky, and Kalatozov

ive been meaning to watch this film since I saw Stalker but haven't had the time to see it, what would you recommend about it (other then its classic status)
>>
>>83894972
it's comfy as fuck, watch it when it's raining outside or something. it's nonlinear but don't try to find a plot because I don't think there really is one
>>
>>83894972
well it really depends, its nothing like stalker, it is neither plot nor dialogue reliant
it's a visual poem about Russia and other aspects of Tarkovsky's life, i wouldn't recommend it because its "comfy" but because it's a great film and its his magnum opus
few films like it
now if you didn't like stalker then i wouldn't bother with it, you'll probably enjoy ivans childhood more
>>
>decide to google this movie
>some trash from the 70s
Grow up already senpai
