What's the most iconic shot from an 80s film?
Hard mode: No Star Wars or Spielberg.

Tried to watch this the other night, what a snoozefest. Boring characters and awful writing, dont get the hype behind this movie at all. Even miniatures just look like garbage. Someone explain this to me..

Did it have the splits being performed in mid-air to avoid a man inexplicably performing a forward roll below? Didn't think so.

Unironically this is the winner. EVERYBODY knows that shot despite not being able to make out a single character's face. That's kino.

Anyone who's seen a post-apocalyptic movie, show or game has seen this shot at least once in some variation

>>83891911
the part right before the sugar Ray beatdown is more iconic
>>83897289
I've always loved how the two Interpol guys who try to arrest Frank for the whole movie just decide to sit down and watch him during the championship round. You can almost see his reporter girlfriend next to them but she's partially obscured by the ref.
Chong-Li beat Frank's best friend into a coma and you can see him wearing the Harley Davidson bandanna on his leg that he took as a trophy. Frank gets blinded by powder halfway through the match and has a thousand-mile stare. That fucking amazing song. So much kino in one shot.
>>83897382
A Boy and His Dog did inspire Fallout, though Fallout itself was inspired by a variety of sources.
>>83887835
1980 was not the 80s
didn't kick in until 81
>>83891481
It's in the same boat as The Goonies and E.T. and a few other movies from that era.
Not actually a great movie, but everyone in there early twenties creams over it because "muh nostalgia".
Not bad movies by any meansexcept E.T.but don't deserve the insane following they get
>>83888100
>>83887835
The movie was shit though
>>83897858
Dont know if serious or retarded.
>>83897931
At least the Goonies have that childhood adventure feeling, though. It's a great kid's movie because of it and so deserves some of the love. Bueller's a fantasy for older kids that doesn't work because it's too outlandish and the character's too much of an ass. Adventures in Babysitting is similarly outlandish, but at least it doesn't have the asshole main character.
>>83894364
Seriously, this is the one and only truly iconic shot from the movie.
>>83898211
not them but they kind of have a point. Things that come out in the first year of a decade where generally written and produced in the previous year. It's still an extension of the culture of the 70's before anything had defined the 80's yet. The Shining is very 70'sy even if it came out in 1980.
>>83898209
Shut up.
What lead to the 80's being so inconic and campy?
>>83894364
>>83898311
that shot was filmed at my highschool track
>>83898292
He's an ass in an ass world. The movie made that clear by having literally no characters that weren't asses, except for his "too good for him" gf.
