Well not just that, I mean the part where he proves he has a softer side, even for inmates. He was so kind to Wes and they kissed passionately and everything. I felt like he had no choice to do what he did. I wouldnt go so far as to say it was murder though.

There were so many problems with it, partly because of the gimmick premise. Felt like the writers got lazy and didn't polish it enough. I still found it to be an enjoyable watch but it's certainly gone downhill.

The riot really should have been much more of an intense, horrible experience. Why were the nazi chicks and different groups suddenly all getting along with each other instead of tearing shit up like they had been foreshadowing? Why did they still seem to try and fit a whole seasons worth of character arcs into three days since that's not a believable timeframe? Why was everyone suddenly okay with that black girl doing everything while everyone else just sat back, not even keeping a proper eye on the hostages. Not to mention she completely fucked up the whole thing even though they handed her everything the prisoners wanted on a silver platter. But she throws a tantrum over something that's out of everyones control anyway. They should have fucked her up.

Was hoping we'd see the blonde guards tittays.

Also why is Piper even there anymore honestly? She serves no purpose and they haven't known where to actually go with her in a meaningful way since the first season. It's clearly an ensemble show that doesn't need her.

I mean, at least some of the prisoners and guards should have died to heighten the whole thing. Even by accident.

They had no idea where the hostages were being held or what conditions they were in. You don't just go gung-ho in a hostage situation and send everyone in with guns blazing. The safety of the hostages is the top priority which is why they even bother calling in a negotiator in the first place and entertain the concept of giving into demands until they can come up with a way to secure the safety of the hostages. It wasn't like there was just one person they had to take out either. There were hundreds of women inside and there was no telling what they would do if they were backed into a corner if one of them got sniped or something. Not to mention the Governor was specifically forbidding them from moving in or doing anything violent because he didn't want it to look bad for the press and affect his election. It wasn't until the last two episodes after the hostages got released that he said "fuck it" and gave the riot squad the order to do their thing.

They also make Crazy Eyes flip out by saying Poussey (or the guard I cant remember) is in a better place and she starts fucking up the ceiling and they give her lithium which almost kills her but they get an epipen.

They also initially take Caputo and the newsman hostage and post ALL over the internet, then Taystee talks over Judy King while she speaks to the press.
