Alex: There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking.

One of my favorite movies/books.
Invented languages are so cringe worthy
Only Tolkien pulled it off

nadsat is not cringeworthy at all in the context of the story, especially in the book

Nadsat isn't entirely made up. It uses a bit of Russian slang.

Nah its pretty cool, its a mix of russian and english slang, and most of it is understandable even if it sounds like gibberish. You can understand that viddy means see for instance, from the word video. But if you have a poor vocabulary it probably becomes complete nonsense.

"When Malcolm McDowell met Gene Kelly at a party several years later, the older star turned and walked away in disgust. Kelly was deeply upset about the way his signature from Du sollst mein Glücksstern sein (1952) had been portrayed in Uhrwerk Orange (1971)." (imdb)

If you speak Russian it makes a lot more sense. It's not really a made up language actually.
It's funny, Kubrick dealt pretty much exclusively in film.
What made him take this project up? It was weird seeing him make a movie.
