Rey have to fight the monster as a trial, much like Luke fought Vader in the cave in The Empire Strikes Back. Rey wins against the monster, but she didn't actually win; she lost. We hear the voice of Yoda, saying that she should've had "tamed" the monster.

Ow, and about that, there's no force ghosts in the movie. Only the voice of Yoda. Although we don't have all of act 2, so they could make an appearance.

How much new content is added to the lore and backstory, is Han's funeral scene any good, describe the casino scene.

One thing I was disappointed with TFA was that it offered new and didn't seem to progress the story at all.

Kylo is even more conflicted than in TFA. Snoke blames him for his failure. He refuses to send him to attack the Resistance Base (the one from TFA on D'Qar, it's early in the movie, much like The Empire Strikes Back, AGAIN), and "trains" him mentally during the two first acts of the movie, mirrorring Rey's training (even though hers only really starts in Act 2), and, by the way it is written, it sounds like Snoke tortures Kylo.

He is sent on Luke's planet at the end of Act 2 (The First Order obtains the plans to Luke's Planet on D'Qar, and learns that Rey is there) to bring Rey to Snoke, and it's his last chance to prove his power to Snoke.

Snoke isn't really developped in this movie either, he is only described as quite despotic and classy.

Rey's parentage isn't totally answered in this movie. It's like TFA all over again, she says that she is "no one", and Luke agrees, but it is implied that he knows another truth. It's made to make you believe that she really is no one.

Phasma is useless as usual.

I'd say it's far better than TFA.

Benicio's character (DJ) is kind of a smuggler. Leia asks Finn to find him (Rose ends up with Finn to find him), and to ask him where to find a Republican Senator because he can be considered as an ally of the Resistance. He first appears as a kind of "I accept who is the most offering" character, but then he proves himself to be reliable and helpful. He introduces Finn and Rose to a party ("casino scene"), where they could meet a man who could help the Resistance.

Laura Dern is one of the leaders of the Resistance who represented it in the senate. She wasn't there during Starkiller Base's strikes. She is the exact opposite of Leia.

It is called The Last Jedi because referring to Luke's status. By the end of the movie, Rey and Kylo are missing. I think that's why. There's no real explaination.

The grey jedi stuff is not real, but a new way of approaching the force is mentionned by Luke and Snoke.

Luke failed because of Kylo Ren. He was too hard with him apparently. The massacre of the Jedi Academy is still obscure (just like Rey's Origins), and we are still led to believe that Kylo did it, but also we are invited to doubt it.

Les enjeux du film, c'est premièrement de convaincre Luke de venir aider la Résistance, puis l'entrainement de Rey et l'exploration des origines de la force (il y a des références à l'arc de Mortis dans TCW si tu connais).
Ensuite, du côté de la Résistance, Finn est chargé, accompagné de Rose, de trouver un sénateur qui aiderait leur combat après qu'une grande partie de la flotte ait été détruite en début de film. Le leadership de Leia est remis en cause tout au long du film, (notemment avec Holdo) et elle finit par se retirer de son poste de générale à la fin du film pour le laisser à Poe. Elle est blessée pendant le film, mais rien de trop grave.
Pendant que Leia et Holdo se disputent sur quoi faire, Poe est le seul qui passe à l'action et installe temporairement la Résistance sur Crait. Il dirige une opération de distraction sur le Premier Ordre quand ils attaquent la planète, pour permettre aux autres de fuir. Tous se retrouvent sur Crait à la fin du film.

Poe finit la bataille dans le Faucon Millenium avec Chewbacca. Finn aide des troupes au sol avant de repartir dans un vaisseau. Luke retrouve Leïa pendant la bataille, et la défend. Après ça, tout le monde fuit. Luke, Leia, Holdo, Poe, Finn, Rose, Chewie, 3PO et R2 sont réunis. Luke sait que Rey et Kylo ont disparu sans explication.
La fin (la situation, l'ambiance) fait penser à celle de l'Empire Contre Attaque.

Pendant la bataille, un vaisseau dans lequel Hux se trouve se fait détruire, et il ne s'en sort pas.
Avant la toute fin du film, on revoit Snoke dans une scène "miroir" avec Luke, chacun sentant son apprenti en danger.

how are you getting the movie these days? I used to work in dubbing in Spain, sometimes they got a shitty black and white version with the dubbing studio's name plastered all over it in watermarks. They told me sometimes it was just a black screen which would show only a small circle of image around the character that's talking.
Oldfags were pretty pissed off bc some years ago they got to work with actual 35mm copies, and this shit they had now made it hard to even properly see the lip sync.
