yeah this movie did come out during the poker craze. it's still cool for a grittier bond but there is a lot of poker. it's very much a product of its time. even the "shock value" of a new bond that isn't all fun and games is a little lost when that's now the norm.

The fact that an entire detailed poker game was still thrilling and entertaining says a lot about how fucking good this movie is
