Reality has become the comedy

Comedy for the last 20 years has relied on tearing down authority. Except now the traditional authority has already been torn down and no comedian is brave enough to take on the new one.

Most comedy recently seems to be driven by millennials, whose brand of "humor" consists of quick edits and competing to see who can get the snarkiest response, with copious amounts of trendy memes scattered throughout. I don't see as much intelligent parody or insight in the comedy now; it's either total edgelords or people who smile and laugh at their own jokes.

And yes, I mad.
