What are some overlooked street cop (not detective) films?
I know about your Lethal Weapons, Dirty Harrys, End of Watches, etc. I want some that are good but lesser known or not mentioned as often.
Just wanted to drop in and say good shit Anon. I never see this film talked about here, it's one of my favorites. Have you seen the sequel? Also, I believe that Gene Hackman's character is actually a detective in that.
I don't know of many from a non-detective standpoint. But within the same criminal vein; Serpico, Mystic River, Kansas City Confidential, and Chinatown are amazing.
I'm sure the retards on this board will come back with Bullitt or another film recognized by the entire human race to be a masterpiece so I'll recommend two greats film that were actually overlooked and say Boorman's Point Blank and Pollack's The Yakuza.

I know Serpico is about corruption but most of the film is gritty new york 70s street cop stuff.

Seen Coogan's Bluff?

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Been on /tv/ for awhile now and have never heard of any of those myself or seen anyone here mention them.
But they look pretty interesting, might check out The Yakuza tonight, thanks.
