>Instead of a generic monster movie we got Moby Dick with Samuel L Jackson as Ahab and Kong as MB. Actual human characters, great gore, plus giant monster fights, and a distinct style all in what could have been a dumb monster flick
How can anyone in there right minds say this movie wasn't fucking insanely fun? Godzilla was a tad boring but it was great where it counted.

Some of the character deaths seemed unnecessary and forced. Similar to the deaths in Rogue One where it seems like they were killed for the sake of being killed. A way to add "stakes" to a film but it ruins the film IMO
