These reboots mostly just seem pointless since they go out of their way to avoid using villains and plot points from the previous movies anyway. It's not like it raises serious questions whenever there's a new Bond or Batman actor. The real problem was that Amazing was an incredibly unjustified reboot, while the new one makes sense since it's particularly for the sake of adding it into the MCU
But the reason is to sell movie tickets, t-shirts and toys

If you really think about it it's all the MCU's fault.
By the time they were going to make Spooderman 4 the MCU was eyeing to buy back their rights to the character. Sony said no, so they were pretty much forced to make TASM as a result.
Now they've negotiated with Sony (after what could have been some great movies with the sinister six, mysterio, and so on) and are making the most bland fucking superhero movie the world will ever know simply because muh cinematic universe and muh toys.

Sony rebooted it because they're the epitome of idiot corporate suits. Marvel rebooted it to fix it. I saw TASM once on demand and hated it, never bothered with the 2nd.
